Carol Schuler is currently shooting with oscar-nominated Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland.
The highly anticipated biopic about famous Czech novelist Franz Kafka titled “Franz” started shooting April 2024 in Prague and Berlin and tells the story of the tormented artist's life, his relationships and his and his legacy.
Carol Schuler portrays his long-time fiancé Felice Bauer.
Idan Weiss stars as Kafka,Jenovéfa Boková as Milena Jesenská, Peter Kurth as Hermann Kafka, Sebastian Schwarz as Max Brod and Katarina Stark as Ottla Kafka.
The screenplay is by Marek Epstein in collaboration with Holland. Cinematography is by Thomas Naumiuk, the editor is Pavel Hrdlicka, set design is by Henrich Boraros and costume design is by Michaela Horačková Hořejší.
Franz is being produced by Marlene Film Production (Czech Republic), and co-produced by X-Filme (Germany), Metro Films (Poland), Bac Films (France), Czech Television, Barrandov Studio, Certikon and CzechAnglo Production. The Czech Film Fund has supported the project.
The domestic theatrical release is planned for late 2024.
